Mr. Sheffler focuses his practice on representing businesses involved in a wide range of industries and on issues including business litigation, commercial collection, business formation and corporate governance, business strategy, sales and purchases of companies and/or their assets, secured transactions and litigation related to same, real property disputes and litigation, enforcement of noncompetition agreements, and contract negotiation and drafting. Additionally, Mr. Sheffler represents clients in the construction industry throughout Florida on issues involving Florida’s Construction Lien law, payment bond claims, construction contract negotiation and drafting, contractor licensure issues, and various other construction-related matters. Mr. Sheffler is also an Athlete Agent licensed in Florida, advising and representing baseball players both before and after the Major League Baseball draft and throughout the players’ professional careers.
Mr. Sheffler graduated from the University of Florida’s College of Business Administration in 1987. In 1990, he graduated from the University of Florida College of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate and has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1991.
Mr. Sheffler was an associate with the Law Offices of Robert Worman from 1991-1994. He resumed the full-time practice of law as an associate with the Law Offices of Robert B. Worman in 2002. In January 2006, he became a shareholder and partner in the firm, now known as Worman & Sheffler, P.A.
From 1994 until 2002, Mr. Sheffler served as President and corporate attorney to his family’s food and paper goods distribution business in central Florida. Having been intimately involved in the wholesale distribution business’s daily operation, he developed a working knowledge and familiarity with issues involving credit analysis, open account sales, warehousing, and varied business issues that give him a unique understanding of many of the business issues facing his clients.
Mr. Sheffler has lectured at numerous seminars regarding such topics as Florida’s Construction Lien and Florida and Federal Payment Bond laws, business credit analysis, commercial debt collection, and contract negotiation strategy. He has lectured for such organizations as National Association of Credit Management of Florida, Inc., and the National Business Institute.
He has been active in many community and civic organizations. In 2006 and 2007, he volunteered as a member of the Executive Steering Committee for AAU Baseball for the state of Florida.
Mr. Sheffler resides in Clermont, Florida, with his wife, Stephanie. They share five successful grown children.
